The Dufour 410 (test in YACHT 14/13) becomes the Dufour 412, and the 500 (test in YACHT 3/13) is now being launched as the Dufour 512.
However, the changes compared to the previous model are only marginal. As part of the standard equipment from the shipyard, both types are fitted with a permanently attached bowsprit to which a gennaker or a code zero can be attached. The moulded GRP part also serves as an anchor holder and as a step when the bow is facing the jetty or pier.
The most important change to the 412 concerns the stern section. As with its larger sisters, the Dufour 460, 512 and 560, the twelve-metre model now also has an enclosed stern with side access to the bathing platform, a storage compartment for the life raft and the option of a small grill station.
The concepts below deck have also been adapted to a manageable extent. Compared to the previous model, the galley on the 412 has been rearranged. This makes the sofa on the starboard side longer and can also be used as a bunk thanks to the lowerable navigation system. The berth on the previous model was not long enough for this.
Dufour has also worked on the galley area of the 512. In the galley, there are more, larger and more usable cooling compartments on the main bulkhead. And the lighting concept has been modified on both boats. Indirect lighting and long, concealed light strips create a pleasant, cosy ambience below deck.
The prices remain unchanged from the previous models: The basic version of the 412 is still available for 181,090 euros; the 512 costs 318,165 euros. The company Baltic Yacht & Management GbmH in Neustadt is the general importer for Dufour in Germany.
Both ships will be presented in January 2015 as novelties at the boat show in Düsseldorf will be presented. Dufour will also be premiering the 460 Grand'Large (test in YACHT 23/13) and the small training and school boat Dufour Drakkar.
